This tool converts your gross salary into your actual monthly take-home pay, after PF, professional tax, and TDS. It's built for salaried employees in the private sector, corporate professionals, government employees, HR and payroll teams, and CAs who need to verify a client's or employee's net pay quickly.
In Hand Salary (monthly) = Gross Monthly Salary − Employee PF − Professional Tax − Monthly TDSEach deduction follows a specific rule:
This calculator uses the New Tax Regime, which is the default regime for FY 2026-27 (AY 2027-28) unless an employee actively opts for the old regime. If your taxable income falls just above ₹12,00,000, Section 87A marginal relief caps your tax increase to the amount by which you've crossed ₹12L, so the jump isn't as sharp as the slab rate suggests. This calculator applies that relief automatically. It also applies surcharge (10%/15%/25%) for taxable income above ₹50 lakh, though it doesn't compute surcharge marginal relief at those higher thresholds — check with a CA if you're near ₹50L, ₹1Cr, or ₹2Cr.
Note: EPFO allows employers to cap PF contribution at 12% of ₹15,000 (₹1,800/month) if Basic Salary exceeds that ceiling, though most private companies today calculate PF on actual Basic Salary regardless of the ceiling. Check your payslip or HR policy to confirm which method your employer follows.
Suppose Priya earns a monthly gross salary of ₹80,000, with Basic Salary at 50% of gross, professional tax of ₹200/month, and an annual bonus of ₹40,000.
You can cross-check the tax portion separately using the Salary Tax Calculator or compare regimes with the Old vs New Tax Regime Calculator.
The Union Budget 2026 made no changes to the New Tax Regime slabs, standard deduction, or Section 87A rebate — they carry forward unchanged from Budget 2025. For FY 2026-27 (AY 2027-28): the standard deduction remains ₹75,000, the Section 87A rebate stays at ₹60,000 (making income up to ₹12,00,000 effectively tax-free), and the EPFO has kept the EPF interest rate at 8.25% for FY 2025-26, with contribution rates (12% employee, 12% employer) unchanged. Professional tax slabs are set by individual state governments and haven't seen major revisions this year, though it's worth checking your specific state's schedule.
CTC (Cost to Company) is your total employment cost, including employer PF, gratuity, and insurance. In-hand salary is what actually reaches your bank account each month, after employee PF, professional tax, and TDS are deducted from your gross pay.
PF is calculated on Basic Salary (plus Dearness Allowance, where applicable), not on your full gross salary. Employee contribution is 12% of Basic Salary under the EPF Act, 1952.
Your employer estimates your total annual tax liability under Section 192, then divides it evenly across the remaining months of the financial year, deducting that amount as monthly TDS from your salary.
No. Professional tax is levied by individual state governments, so it applies only in states that have a Profession Tax Act — such as Maharashtra, Karnataka, and West Bengal. States like Delhi and Haryana don't currently levy it.
A bonus doesn't reduce your monthly in-hand pay directly, but it adds to your annual taxable income, which can increase your monthly TDS for the months after the bonus is paid or at year-end reconciliation.
This calculator uses the New Tax Regime under Section 115BAC, the default regime for FY 2026-27. If you've opted for the Old Regime, use the Old vs New Tax Regime Calculator to compare your exact numbers.
Your first month often includes pro-rated pay if you joined mid-month, plus possible one-time deductions like uniform deposits or advance recovery. From the second full month onward, your in-hand salary should match this calculator's output closely.
